ayaz daryl nielsen was born in Valentine, Nebraska, attended schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Monterrey, Mexico, has lived in Bonn, Germany, and now lives in Longmont, Colorado, with his beloved wife, poet and psychoanalyst Judith Partin-Nielsen.  A veteran and former hospice nurse, he has nurtured his print publication bear creek haiku for over 30 years and 150 issues, and, is online at bear creek haiku poetry, poems and info. Poems by ayaz daryl have been voted "best senryu of year" twice by the Irish Haiku Association, twice have been included in the yearly Red Moon Anthology of English-Language Haiku, his scifaiku selected for the Dwarf Award, chapbooks include Window Left Open released by Prolific Press, unique conversations and a dog barking somewhere and one more swallow and interplay and inner work by Cholla Needles Arts and Literary Library, Sophia’s Crockpot by Presa Press, Kissing the Stitches by SCARS Publications, tumbleweeds still tumbling and Saint Moochie’s Corner through Create Space, and, twice by the Origami Poetry Project. Among other deeply appreciated honors, he is especially delighted by the depth and heart of poets worldwide whose poems have a home in bear creek haiku’s print and online presence.
